About the Author
Jack Welch joined GE in 1960. In 1981, he became the eighth chairman and CEO. He lives in Fairfield, Connecticut. .John Francis "Jack" Welch Jr. was an American business executive, author and chemical engineer. He was chairman and CEO of General Electric between 1981 and 2001 presiding over a massive increase in the company's stock valuation.
He was coauthor with his wife Suzy Welch of a widely read weekly business column, The Welch Way, and launched the "Jack Welch Management Institute," an online MBA program.
